Brevo alternatives

People leave Brevo after a suspended account, a support chat that starts with a bot, or a bill that jumps at a contact cap. Nine tools that also email opted-in lists, sorted by the job you need done.

The short answer

Reachkit, the company I run, makes cold email software, so it isn’t on this list: Brevo sends to people who signed up, and that’s not a job Reachkit does. I checked every price below in October 2026, on the vendor’s own pages wherever they show it. When a vendor hides bigger tiers behind a slider, I credit the review site whose reading I used.

Brevo is hard to beat on two things: a free plan that stores 100,000 contacts, and prices set by emails sent, so a big list you mail now and then stays cheap. So leave for a specific reason, and pick by it:

  • More free sending each month: Sender, 15,000 emails a month for up to 2,500 subscribers.
  • A like-for-like switch that’s easy to learn: MailerLite.
  • Newsletters plus app email, with no contact cap: Mailjet, from $19 a month.
  • A daily newsletter: Moosend, with unlimited sends from $9.
  • An online store: Omnisend, or Klaviyo if you segment on order history.
  • Automations that branch: ActiveCampaign.
  • A person on the phone: Constant Contact, from its $12 plan.
  • The longest integration list: Mailchimp, with 300+.

Common problems

Why people look for a Brevo alternative

Three reasons, from Brevo's own pages and its reviews.

Suspensions with little warning
Of the 20 newest one- and two-star Brevo reviews on Trustpilot (October 28, 2026), 8 describe a suspended or blocked account, one the day after signup and several on prepaid plans. In its replies, Brevo links suspensions to results that hurt its shared IP addresses, and its terms refund no prepaid fees.
Support that starts with a bot
More than half of those 20 reviews are about support: an AI reply first, then canned answers, or in one reviewer's words, "stuck in a loop with a bot". Phone support comes with Professional, which starts at $499 a month, and Brevo pointed one reviewer to exactly that in October 2026.
Caps and extras that move the bill
Starter and Standard cap contacts at 500, 1,500 and 2,500 on the three smallest tiers, and going over moves you up a tier automatically. Logo removal, extra seats and the Sales CRM package are paid add-ons. At 150,000 emails, Professional costs $499 a month against $179 for Standard in Brevo's price list; it adds WhatsApp, push and phone support, among other things (October 2026).

1. MailerLite: best for a like-for-like switch that's easy to learn

MailerLite, owned by the Polish company Vercom, covers newsletters, automations, forms, landing pages, websites and digital product sales for small businesses and creators.

Price, October 2026: the plan price follows your subscriber count. The free tier stops at 250 people and 2,500 sends a month, and at 500 subscribers Comfort is $12 and Power $25. On the slider as review sites read it, 5,000 subscribers cost $49 on Comfort (50,000 sends allowed) or $69 on Power (no cap, under fair use). These plans launched in mid-June 2026, with higher prices.

Strengths:

  • Ease of use is the theme G2 reviewers raise most, and Trustpilot’s AI summary credits quick, helpful staff.
  • Its hosted MCP server works on every plan (limited on Free), so Claude or ChatGPT can build a segment or draft a campaign for you.

Drawbacks:

  • Frozen accounts are its top complaint too, in about 10 of the 15 latest low-star Trustpilot reviews as of October 20, 2026.
  • Receipts and password resets need MailerSend, a sister product priced on its own.

Versus Brevo: 5,000 subscribers mailed weekly is about 22,000 sends. Comfort’s $49 covers that with automations and no logo, while Brevo charges $39 on Starter, $51 with the $12 logo removal (its add-ons article says $9), or $79 on Standard. In a Reddit thread asking for a Brevo alternative when deliverability is the sole complaint, one commenter “Switched from Brevo to Mailerlite and saw a huge difference”. One account, not a test. 2. Sender: best for more free sending each month

Sender, a Vilnius company operating since 2012, sells email and SMS marketing to small businesses and shops, with transactional email by API or SMTP on all plans, the free one included.

Price, October 2026: Free Forever allows one user, 2,500 subscribers and 15,000 sends a month, carries Sender’s logo and leaves out SMS. Paid plans begin at $9 (Standard) and $15 (Professional) for 500 subscribers, with 30% off a year paid upfront in a Black Friday offer. Its cost calculator puts Standard at $39 for 5,000 subscribers.

Strengths:

  • Nothing caps how much you send per day, on any plan.
  • Live chat answers 24/7 even for free accounts, and Trustpilot scores Sender 4.9 from 1,579 reviews (October 30, 2026).

Drawbacks:

  • A quality team checks each new account before its first campaign, asking for a site on the domain you verify and the forms people signed up through. Suspensions fill most of its one-star reviews, which are 2% of the total.
  • Refunds happen only if Sender itself ends the service without cause.

Versus Brevo: the two free plans trade places. Brevo Free keeps 100,000 contacts but sends at most 300 a day, roughly 9,000 in a month; Sender Free keeps 2,500 and sends 15,000 with no daily ceiling. Small and frequent suits Sender, big and occasional suits Brevo. Sender profile

3. Mailjet: best for newsletters and app email without a contact cap

Mailjet, founded in France in 2010 and owned by Sweden’s Sinch since 2021, works the way Brevo does: a marketing editor and a Send API, SMTP relay and webhooks in one account, billed by emails sent.

Price, October 2026: Free sends 6,000 emails a month (200 a day) to 1,000 contacts. Starter is $9 for 8,000 emails and 2,000 contacts. Essential costs $19 for 15,000 emails or $40 for 50,000, with no contact limit and no logo, and Premium adds automations and landing pages from $29. Essential and Premium prices rose on September 9, 2026.

Strengths:

  • Contacts stop counting from Essential, so a large, quiet list stays cheap.
  • The API, SMTP relay and webhooks come with every plan, Free included, and Premium allows up to 20 subaccounts.

Drawbacks:

  • Sending past your plan is always billed, at $2.58 per 1,000 extra emails on the 15,000 plans; Mailjet’s help center says “Extra usage cannot be deactivated.”
  • About three in five of its 20 newest one- and two-star Trustpilot reviews (October 28, 2026) describe a blocked account, and phone and chat support start at the 50,000-email plans.

Versus Brevo: 10,000 contacts mailed once a month is only 10,000 emails, but Brevo’s 10,000 tier stops at 1,500 contacts, so that list pays for the 20,000 tier: $32 on Starter or $69 on Standard. On Mailjet it costs $19 on Essential, or $29 on Premium with automations. Mailjet profile

4. Moosend: best for a newsletter that goes out every day

Moosend, part of Constant Contact since June 2025, is London-registered with a team in Athens and sells email campaigns, automation and landing pages to small businesses and shops.

Price, October 2026: one self-serve plan, Pro, priced by subscribers with no limit on sends. It’s $9 a month at 500, and per review sites’ slider readings $16 at 1,000, $48 at 5,000 and $88 at 10,000, or 20% less paid yearly. No free plan exists; the trial lasts 30 days, for up to 1,000 contacts, with no card.

Strengths:

  • Sending every day costs the same as sending once a month.
  • 4.6 or better on G2 and Capterra, where reviewers mostly mention price and ease of use.

Drawbacks:

  • Its Trustpilot score is 2.9 across just 85 reviews (October 2026), mostly billing complaints, and its terms want written notice 60 days before a renewal, though its FAQ describes a cancel button.
  • No texting of its own, email and chat support five days a week (24/5), and no official MCP server.

Versus Brevo: a daily email to 5,000 people adds up to roughly 150,000 sends, past Starter’s 100,000 ceiling, so Brevo’s price list puts you on Standard at $179. The same list on Moosend is $48. What you give up: Brevo’s free plan, its texting, and app email on every plan. Moosend profile

5. Omnisend: best for an online store on a budget

Omnisend, founded in Lithuania as Soundest in 2014, does email, texting and web push for ecommerce. Connect Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Wix and it pulls in orders, products and browsing, which drive its welcome, cart, browse and post-purchase workflows.

Price, October 2026: a free tier for 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, Standard from $16 at 500 contacts, and Pro from $59 at 2,500 with unlimited email under fair use. At 10,000 contacts, readings by Kanal and Email Tool Tester give $132 on Standard and $150 on Pro. New accounts can only add texting on Pro (since May 4, 2026), billed per text, $0.007 to $0.009 in the US.

Strengths:

  • Every plan, Free included, gets round-the-clock live chat and email support, which Trustpilot’s review summary praises first.
  • Rated 4.7 on the Shopify App Store (3,200 reviews) and 4.4 on Trustpilot (510), October 2026.

Drawbacks:

  • Shoppers who never opted in still count once an automated message reaches them, and tiers move up on their own.
  • SMS starts at $59 a month plus messages, since texting needs Pro.

Versus Brevo: Brevo saves AI product recommendations, back-in-stock alerts and coupons for its $499 Professional plan, while Omnisend’s personalized product recommender is part of Pro at $59. If your store’s flows already work on Brevo Standard, which has unlimited workflows plus web and event tracking, there’s less reason to move. Omnisend profile

6. Klaviyo: best for stores that segment on order history

Klaviyo, a NYSE-listed Boston company, builds a profile for each shopper from your store’s orders, products and browsing, then sends flows and campaigns by email, SMS, WhatsApp and push.

Price, October 2026: free up to 250 active profiles and 500 sends a month. The Email plan begins at $20 for 500 profiles; calculator readings from Kanal and Yocto show $100 at 5,000 and $150 at 10,000, and the price more than doubles by 15,000. Every emailable profile is billed, and texting is a separate prepaid plan.

Strengths:

  • Segments and flows key off real purchase and browsing history, which G2 and Capterra reviewers single out.
  • Composer, live since October 13, 2026, turns a stated goal into a staged campaign that waits for your go-ahead.

Drawbacks:

  • Quiet profiles cost money until suppressed, and texting, the helpdesk and analytics are each billed separately.
  • A 1.7 on Trustpilot from a small sample of 371 reviews sits beside 4.6 on G2, and free accounts get email support for only 60 days.

Versus Brevo: expect to pay more. 10,000 contacts mailed weekly is about 43,000 sends: $97 a month on Brevo Standard’s 50,000 tier, $150 on Klaviyo Email. The premium buys segmentation built on store data. More in the Klaviyo profile and Klaviyo alternatives.

7. ActiveCampaign: best for automations that branch

ActiveCampaign, a Chicago company founded in 2003, is built around automations that start on a signup, a click or a purchase and branch on each contact’s next move. The sales CRM, SMS and WhatsApp are add-ons.

Price, October 2026: for 1,000 contacts on yearly billing, $15 a month buys Starter, $49 Plus, $79 Pro and $145 Enterprise. There’s a 14-day trial without a card but no free tier.

Strengths:

  • G2 and Capterra reviewers praise the automation builder before anything else, and Pro adds predictive sending and conditional content.
  • Through its remote MCP server, Claude or ChatGPT can add contacts, read campaign results and send campaigns.

Drawbacks:

  • Newer accounts, opened from November 3, 2025, are billed for contacts who unsubscribed, bounced or never confirmed.
  • Hard-to-reach support recurs in reviews, and Trustpilot shows 2.8 from 1,458 (October 2026).

Versus Brevo: Brevo Standard already runs unlimited automation workflows for $35 a month at 1,000 contacts (about $31.50 on yearly billing), while ActiveCampaign Plus costs $49 billed yearly and Starter caps each automation at 5 actions. The reason to switch is how far the flows can go, not the bill. App email costs extra too, through Postmark, which ActiveCampaign owns. ActiveCampaign profile

8. Constant Contact: best for a person on the phone

Constant Contact, based in Waltham, Massachusetts and around for about 30 years, serves small businesses, nonprofits and franchises with email, texting, social posting, surveys and paid event sign-ups.

Price, October 2026: the smallest list costs $12 on Lite, $35 on Standard or $80 on Premium per month, or $10.20, $29.75 and $68 a month prepaid for a year. At 2,500 contacts, September 2026 third-party checks give $50, $75 and $150. Plans allow 10, 12 or 24 sends per contact in your tier each cycle, and sends past that cost $2 per 1,000. There’s a trial without a card, but no free plan.

Strengths:

  • Even Lite comes with live one-on-one onboarding and phone and chat support.
  • Campaigns keep going past the send cap, and automated welcome and cart emails don’t use it up.

Drawbacks:

  • Your bill sits at the highest contact tier you’ve reached; moving down means phoning Billing, and it’s allowed once.
  • Most of its Trustpilot complaints concern billing, renewals and cancelling (4.0 from 2,119, October 2026).

Versus Brevo: on Brevo, a phone line comes with Professional at $499 a month. A weekly email to 2,500 contacts, about 10,800 sends, fits Brevo’s 15,000 tier for $25 (Starter) or $49 (Standard); Constant Contact Standard runs $75 for that list, with 3 users and scheduling. You pay the gap for a human. More in the Constant Contact profile and Constant Contact alternatives.

9. Mailchimp: best for the longest list of integrations

Mailchimp, which Intuit has owned since 2021, sells email marketing to small businesses and online stores, with predictive segments on Standard and Premium and more than 300 integrations.

Price, October 2026: the free tier allows 250 contacts and 500 sends a month (250 in a day). Paid plans start at $13 for Essentials and $20 for Standard at 500 contacts, and $350 for Premium at 10,000. At 5,000 contacts, third-party price tables show $75 and $100. Unsubscribed people keep counting until archived.

Strengths:

  • Its 300+ integrations double the 150+ Brevo lists, and in four countries (the US, Canada, the UK and Australia) a Mailchimp app drafts campaigns inside ChatGPT or Claude.
  • Essentials and Standard get 24/7 email and chat support.

Drawbacks:

  • Trustpilot gives 2.5 from about 1,550 reviews (October 2026), and its summary mentions slow help, account lockouts and unclear charges.
  • App email, the old Mandrill, is extra and only for Standard and Premium, from $20 per block of 25,000 sends.

Versus Brevo: at this size Mailchimp is the pricier of the two. 5,000 contacts mailed weekly cost $75 on Essentials or $100 on Standard, against $39 or $79 on Brevo’s 30,000-send tier, and Brevo’s free plan stores 400 times the contacts. Choose Mailchimp when it connects to something Brevo doesn’t. More in the Mailchimp profile and Mailchimp alternatives.

How to choose

Start from why you’re leaving, then price each tool at your own list size and sending rhythm, since Brevo bills by sends and most of these bill by contacts:

  • Brevo’s editor slowed you down. MailerLite.
  • Your list is small and the free plan ran out of sends. Sender.
  • You also send receipts and password resets from Brevo. Mailjet keeps both on one plan.
  • You email every day. Moosend.
  • You run a store. Omnisend, or Klaviyo if segments on order history matter more than price.
  • Your automations need branches. ActiveCampaign Plus or above.
  • You want to call someone. Constant Contact.
  • One integration decides it. Mailchimp.

Expect a review first: MailerLite approves new accounts, Sender checks each one before its first campaign, and Mailjet’s compliance team can block one. Keep Brevo running until the new account sends.

Brevo alternatives FAQ

Who are Brevo's main competitors?

In the top 10 Google results for brevo alternatives (October 28, 2026), the names that recur most are Mailchimp, MailerLite, Moosend, Omnisend, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, GetResponse, HubSpot and Mailjet. Mailjet is the closest in how it works: it also pairs a marketing editor with an email API and bills by emails sent rather than contacts stored.

Which is better, MailerLite or Brevo?

It depends on how often you send. MailerLite bills by subscribers and Brevo by emails sent, so a weekly newsletter to 5,000 people costs $49 a month on MailerLite Comfort against $79 on Brevo Standard, while a big list mailed once a month is cheaper on Brevo. Brevo keeps app email in the same account, where MailerLite uses its sister product MailerSend; reviewers single out MailerLite for ease of use. Checked October 2026.

Which is better, Brevo or Mailchimp?

On price, Brevo for most lists. Its free plan stores 100,000 contacts against Mailchimp's 250, and 5,000 contacts mailed weekly cost $39 a month on Brevo Starter against $75 on Mailchimp Essentials, as of October 2026. Mailchimp's case is reach: more than 300 integrations against Brevo's 150+, and 24/7 chat support on Essentials and Standard.

Is there a free alternative to Brevo?

Yes. Sender's free plan sends 15,000 emails a month to up to 2,500 subscribers with no daily cap, and Mailjet's sends 6,000 a month, at most 200 a day, to 1,000 contacts. MailerLite, Omnisend, Klaviyo and Mailchimp also have free plans for 250 contacts. None stores as many contacts as Brevo Free's 100,000, as of October 2026.

Why do people leave Brevo?

Two reasons lead Brevo's one- and two-star Trustpilot reviews: sudden account suspensions, in 8 of the 20 newest as of October 28, 2026, and support that starts with a bot. Pricing comes next: contact caps on the three smallest tiers, paid extras for logo removal, seats and the Sales CRM package, and a jump to $499 for Professional.

Can I take a list Brevo suspended to another tool?

Only with contacts who opted in. Each of the nine tools here requires opt-in and bans bought lists, and Sender can ask you to prove opt-in at any time. Prospects who never subscribed make a cold email list, and that belongs on separate domains and inboxes in a prospecting tool, kept apart from your marketing account.

My take

For a big list mailed a few times a month, I’d stay: Brevo’s free plan and send-based tiers are hard to beat there. I’d move when you send often (Moosend or MailerLite), when your list outgrows the small tiers’ contact caps (Mailjet), when you want a person on the phone without paying for Professional (Constant Contact), or when a store needs recommendations and texting at a lower price (Omnisend).

After a suspension, learn the reason first: the tools above apply the same opt-in rules, so the problem would follow you. Prospects who never signed up are a cold email list, and Reachkit, my product, is built for those (why they need their own setup).
