Brevo pricing and review
Brevo, formerly Sendinblue, is a Paris-based email marketing and CRM suite that bills by emails sent each month, with SMS, WhatsApp and chat in the same account.

Brevo pricing
Brevo pricing starts at $9 a month on Starter and $18 on Standard for 5,000 emails, and Professional starts at $499. Prices are in USD from brevo.com/pricing, Brevo’s price catalog and its plans help article, as of October 30, 2026.
| Plan | Monthly (yearly, per month) | Emails a month | Contacts and seats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 300 a day | 100,000 contacts, 1 user |
| Starter | $9 ($8.08) | 5,000 to 100,000 | 500 to 500,000 by tier, 1 seat |
| Standard | $18 ($16.17) | 5,000 and up | 500 to 500,000 by tier, up to 3 seats |
| Professional | $499 ($449.08) | 150,000 and up | 2 million contacts, 10 seats |
| Enterprise | From $2,499 on the pricing page, “custom” in the help center | Custom | Unlimited contact storage, per the help center |
The email tier also caps your contacts on Starter and Standard. Passing the cap on the first three tiers moves you up a tier automatically, at the higher price.
| Emails a month | Contact cap | Starter | Standard |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5,000 | 500 | $9 | $18 |
| 10,000 | 1,500 | $17 | $35 |
| 15,000 | 2,500 | $25 | $49 |
| 20,000 | 500,000 | $32 | $69 |
| 100,000 | 500,000 | $82 | $139 |
Extras: logo removal on Starter costs $12 a month in the price catalog ($10.80 billed yearly on the pricing page, $9 in Brevo’s add-ons article), an extra Standard seat $12, the Sales Essentials CRM $31 and a dedicated IP $251 a year on Professional. Yearly billing saves 10%. Unused email credits expire each month, and a cancelled plan runs to the end of its term with no refund.
A typical cost (my math, monthly billing): mailing 3,000 contacts four times a month is only 12,000 emails, but the contact cap forces the 20,000 tier: $32 on Starter ($44 with the logo removed) or $69 on Standard. At 150,000 emails, Professional costs $499 against $179 for Standard in Brevo’s catalog.
What Brevo does
Brevo sends marketing and app email to people who agreed to hear from you. You collect contacts through forms or imports, build campaigns and automations in the browser, and Brevo sends from its own shared IP addresses unless you pay for a dedicated one. Transactional email by API, SMTP relay and webhooks is on every plan.
SMS, WhatsApp, web and mobile push, live chat and loyalty tools sit beside email, with WhatsApp only on Professional and Enterprise. A built-in Sales CRM tracks deals and tasks, free for 50 open deals in one pipeline.
Brevo’s AI layer is called Aura. Starter includes an AI content generator and Standard adds AI send-time optimization. Every paid plan lists an MCP server, which lets Claude or ChatGPT work inside your Brevo account. Brevo doesn’t host or warm mailboxes, and replies go to your reply-to address.
The company was founded in 2012 as Sendinblue, renamed in 2023, is based in Paris, and raised €500 million in December 2025. It claims more than 600,000 customers.
Brevo strengths and drawbacks
Strengths
- A free plan with no end date. 300 emails a day and 100,000 contacts, no card (free plan FAQ).
- Cheap contacts past 20,000 emails. From that tier, Starter and Standard store up to 500,000 contacts at no extra charge.
- Many channels in one account. Email, SMS, WhatsApp, push, chat and a CRM, with transactional email on every plan.
- Open to AI tools. The MCP server (early access from October 2025), a Claude connector and a ChatGPT plugin all launched by September 2026 (release notes).
Drawbacks
- Tight caps on the lowest tiers. 500 contacts at 5,000 emails and 2,500 at 15,000, with automatic upgrades past them.
- A steep step to Professional. WhatsApp, contact scoring and phone support start at $499, a gap Omnisend and TechRadar both point out.
- Extras add up. Emailtooltester’s pricing review is titled “Cheap, But With Extra Costs”.
- Strict list rules. The anti-spam policy asks for “a proof of opt-in for each of your Contacts”, bans scraped and purchased lists, and allows “immediate suspension” for breaches.
What Brevo users say
Brevo holds 3.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 7,251 reviews as of October 30, 2026, with 76% five-star and 13% one-star; Brevo invites customers to review there. Search listings show 4.5 on G2 from 2,769 reviews and 4.6 on Capterra from 3,526.
Praise goes to the free plan and the price: a Trustpilot reviewer in October 2026 found Brevo “much more generous to free users”.
One recurring complaint is sudden suspension, described in 8 of the 20 reviews on the first page of Trustpilot’s one- and two-star filter: “My account was suspended even though I had already paid for 3 months of service” (October 2026). Brevo’s replies tie suspensions to results that affect its shared IP addresses. The other is support that starts with a bot: “You get stuck in a loop with a bot.”
Who Brevo is for
Brevo fits small businesses, online shops and nonprofits with an opt-in list that want newsletters, automations, SMS and a light CRM under one login, plus app email from the same vendor. The free plan makes it easy to try.
Look elsewhere if you need WhatsApp without a $499 plan, or want to email people who never signed up, which Brevo’s policy forbids. For that kind of outreach I’d use separate domains and mailboxes, so a complaint never reaches the account your newsletter and receipts go out from (why).
Alternatives to Brevo
- Mailchimp, MailerLite and Klaviyo: Brevo’s closest email marketing peers. I haven’t profiled them yet, so check their own pricing pages.
- GoHighLevel: CRM, funnels and email marketing for agencies, from $97 a month plus $0.675 per 1,000 emails. See the GoHighLevel profile.
- SendGrid: Twilio’s email API from $19.95 for 50,000 emails, with Marketing Campaigns billed separately from $15 a month. See the SendGrid profile.
- MailerSend: if you mainly used Brevo for app email, transactional sending from $7 for 5,000 emails. See the MailerSend profile.
- Reachkit (our product): for prospecting emails to people who never opted in, which Brevo’s rules forbid. It registers new lookalike domains ($15 a year), creates Google or Microsoft inboxes on them ($5 a month each) that warm up automatically, finds verified leads (1,000 credits a month on the $39 Growth plan) and gathers replies in one Unibox, away from your Brevo account and main domain.
Brevo: common questions
How much does Brevo cost?
Brevo costs $9 a month on Starter and $18 on Standard for 5,000 emails, rising with volume, and $499 on Professional for 150,000 emails. Yearly billing saves 10%. Enterprise is quoted by sales; the pricing page lists it from $2,499 a month. A free plan sends 300 emails a day. Prices checked October 2026.
Does Brevo have a free plan?
Yes. Brevo's Free plan sends 300 emails a day, stores up to 100,000 contacts and has no time limit or card requirement. It allows one user, adds the Brevo logo to emails and leaves out A/B tests, landing pages and phone support.
Is Brevo legit?
Yes. Brevo is the former Sendinblue, a Paris-based company founded in 2012, and it raised 500 million euros in December 2025. It holds 3.8 on Trustpilot from 7,251 reviews as of October 2026. Common complaints there are slow, bot-first support and sudden account suspension, which Brevo ties to results that affect its shared IP addresses.
Is Brevo a CRM?
Partly. Brevo includes a Sales CRM with deals, pipelines and tasks, free for 50 open deals in one pipeline. More comes through add-ons: Sales Essentials at $31 a month on any paid plan, and Sales Advanced on Professional and Enterprise. Its core is still email and SMS marketing.
Why is Brevo so cheap?
Brevo bills by emails sent, not contacts stored, so from the 20,000-email tier Starter and Standard hold up to 500,000 contacts. Entry prices stay low, while WhatsApp and phone support sit on the $499 Professional plan and logo removal, seats and the CRM cost extra. That's a reading of the price list, not a reason Brevo gives.
Can you use Brevo for cold email?
No. Brevo's anti-spam policy requires proof of opt-in for every contact and prohibits scraped or purchased lists, with suspension as the penalty. Cold outreach runs on separate domains and mailboxes in a tool built for it, such as Reachkit, which is our product and can register the domains and set up warmed inboxes for you.
