Constant Contact pricing
Constant Contact pricing starts at $12 a month for Lite, $35 for Standard and $80 for Premium on monthly billing, and each figure is the price for the smallest list. The pricing page says plan prices depend on your number of contacts and email sends (checked October 2026).
| Plan | Monthly, from | Prepaid 12 months, from | Users and sends per cycle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $12 | $10.20/mo | 1 user (2 in the plan table), 10x your contact tier |
| Standard | $35 | $29.75/mo | 3 users, 12x |
| Premium | $80 | $68/mo | Unlimited users, 24x |
The plan cards show the prepaid figures. Multi-Account (Teams) is priced through sales.
Price by list size. Third-party checks from September 2026 put a 2,500-contact list at $50, $75 or $150 a month and a 10,000-contact list at $120, $160 or $275 (Lite, Standard, Premium). Above 50,000 contacts you get a quote. You’re billed at the highest tier of active contacts you’ve reached, and moving back down means calling Billing, which Constant Contact calls a one-time courtesy.
Going over. Sends past your allowance still go out at $0.002 each, or $2 per 1,000, charged on top of the plan. Automated welcome and abandoned-cart emails don’t count toward it.
Extras and discounts. US SMS costs from $10 a month for up to 500 messages on Lite and Standard; Premium includes 500. Inbox Preview is $10 a month. Prepaying saves 10% for 6 months or up to 15% for 12, and nonprofits get 20% or 30% off with prepay. Prepayments are non-refundable.
What a typical setup costs: a business with 2,500 contacts and a weekly newsletter (about 10,800 sends a month) fits Lite at $50, but Lite has no scheduling, so Standard at $75 a month (about $64 prepaid for a year) is the likelier fit.
What Constant Contact does
Constant Contact sends marketing email to people who have asked to hear from you; its policy forbids bought, rented or scraped lists. You import contacts or collect them with sign-up forms, build an email in the drag-and-drop editor or with the AI copy generator, then send or schedule it and track opens and clicks. Mail goes out from Constant Contact’s own servers, not from your mailbox.
Automation grows with the plan: one automation template on Lite, three plus an AI campaign builder and resends to non-openers on Standard, and unlimited custom automations on Premium. Segments go from 1 to 10 to unlimited the same way.
Around the email sit SMS, social posting to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, event registration with payments, surveys and ad tools, plus 300+ integrations and an API. A ChatGPT app (June 2026) and a Claude connector (September 2026) let you draft a campaign in the assistant and hand it to Constant Contact. Teams, launched in October 2026, adds approvals and locked templates for franchises and multi-location groups.
Constant Contact strengths and drawbacks
Strengths
- A person to talk to. Every plan, Lite included, lists live 1:1 onboarding plus phone and chat support.
- Email, SMS, social and events together. Newsletter, texts and event sign-ups run from one account.
- A steady inbox record. Constant Contact cites a 98% inbox rate from 2025 Validity tests, and EmailToolTester’s own tests have scored it from the high 80s to low 90s since 2017.
- Sending doesn’t stop at the cap. Extra sends cost $2 per 1,000 instead of pausing a campaign.
Drawbacks
- The bill follows the list. Prices climb with every tier, and the billing FAQ keeps you at the highest tier reached until Billing agrees to lower it.
- A thin entry plan. Lite allows one segment and one automation template, with no scheduling or subject-line A/B tests.
- Refunds are narrow. The pricing page promises a full refund within 30 days, but the money-back guarantee terms cover only the first monthly payment, requested by phone, and prepayments are non-refundable.
- Basic automation. EmailToolTester says you can’t combine conditions and actions the way many other tools allow.
What Constant Contact users say
As of October 2026, Constant Contact rates 4.0 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 2,119 reviews, 4.1 on G2 from about 7,600 and 4.3 on Capterra from about 2,950.
Reviewers praise ease of use and support staff, often by name. The complaints that repeat are about money: refunds refused right after a renewal, pricing that climbs with the contact count, and cancellations described as slow or as not stopping the charges. Constant Contact has replied to 98% of its negative Trustpilot reviews. Editors split: EmailToolTester calls it “a premium price for a sub-premium product”, while PCMag calls it “an excellent, accessible gateway for small businesses and beginners”.
Who Constant Contact is for
Constant Contact fits small businesses, nonprofits and franchises that mail their own customers, donors or members, want a person on the phone when something breaks.
Look elsewhere if your list is large and growing fast, since each tier raises the bill, if you need branching automation, or if you want to email businesses that never opted in. If you do pick it, I’d remove contacts you no longer mail before a big import tips you into the next tier, because getting back down takes a call and only works once.

Constant Contact: common questions
How much does Constant Contact cost?
Constant Contact costs from $12 (Lite), $35 (Standard) or $80 (Premium) a month on monthly billing, or $10.20, $29.75 and $68 a month prepaid for a year, as of October 2026. Those are prices for the smallest list. Third-party checks from September 2026 put Standard at $75 a month for 2,500 contacts and $160 for 10,000.
Is Constant Contact legit?
Yes. Constant Contact has been around for about 30 years and says more than 460,000 small businesses, nonprofits and franchises use it. As of October 2026 it rates 4.0 on Trustpilot from 2,119 reviews, 4.1 on G2 and 4.3 on Capterra. Most Trustpilot complaints are about billing, renewals and cancelling, not about whether emails arrive.
Does Constant Contact have a free plan?
No. Constant Contact offers a free trial with no credit card but no free plan, and its pages don't state the trial length. New paying customers get a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first monthly payment, if they've uploaded contacts and sent at least one email, requested by phone.
How do I cancel Constant Contact?
Constant Contact's billing FAQ says you can cancel online or by calling Billing, though some accounts lack the online option, and EmailToolTester and EmailVendorSelection say you have to phone. Access runs to the end of the cycle. Prepayments are non-refundable, and unused prepaid credit is given up.
Can you use Constant Contact for cold email?
No. Constant Contact's permission policy forbids lists that are bought, rented or scraped from the web, and says using one risks having the account shut down. Cold outreach to businesses is usually sent from a dedicated tool on separate domains, such as Instantly or Reachkit, which is our product.
