Omnisend pricing and review
Omnisend sends email, SMS and web push for online stores, Shopify first, runs automated flows on store data, and bills by the number of contacts you keep.
Omnisend at a glance
I run Reachkit, a cold email platform, which doesn’t do the store marketing Omnisend does. Every price here was checked in October 2026 against Omnisend’s own pages, except where marked.

Omnisend pricing
Omnisend pricing starts at $16 a month for Standard and $59 for Pro, and both climb as your list grows. Plan figures are from omnisend.com/pricing and the pricing help article, billed monthly in US dollars before VAT, as of October 2026.
| Plan | Monthly price | Contacts | Emails a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 250 | 500 |
| Standard | from $16 | up to 500 | 12 per contact |
| Pro | from $59 | up to 2,500 | Unlimited (fair use: 60 per contact) |
| Custom | Quote | over 150,000 | Unlimited |
What counts as a contact. The help center and the pricing page count subscribers plus non-subscribers who receive automated messages, such as buyers who never opted in and abandoned carts; unsubscribes don’t count. The tier rises on its own, with an email first; removing contacts lowers it only from the next cycle.
Larger lists. The calculator showed only the first tier when checked, so these rows are readings by Kanal (October 2026) and Email Tool Tester (August 2026), which agree where both list a tier.
| Contacts | Standard | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $20 | $59 |
| 2,500 | $44 | $59 |
| 10,000 | $132 | $150 |
| 50,000 | $413 | $715 |
Starter deal. A first upgrade prepaid for three months gets 30% off, once: $33.60 instead of $48 on Standard, $123.90 instead of $177 on Pro.
SMS. Since May 4, 2026, Standard and Free can’t add texting for new subscriptions. On Pro, texts are a separate per-message subscription: in the US, $0.009 each at under $50 of monthly spend, down to $0.007 at $10,000 or more. The help center says older Pro accounts lose their bundled SMS credits on October 26, 2026; the pricing page FAQ still mentions bonus credits on Pro, and SMS on Free.
What a typical setup costs: a store with 2,000 contacts that wants texting needs Pro at $59 plus, say, a $50 SMS pack (about 5,880 US texts), so roughly $109 a month.
What Omnisend does
Omnisend is marketing automation for online stores, driven by what shoppers do. It connects to Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix and others, syncing customers, orders, products and browsing.
- Growing the list: popups, spin-to-win wheels and signup forms, which Forms AI builds from a short description on paid plans.
- Automations: welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment and post-purchase workflows, sent to segments built from behavior and purchases.
- Campaigns: email from 250+ templates or a text-only builder, SMS on Pro, and web push.
Omnisend sends the mail itself, from your domain once you authenticate it. It isn’t a mailbox, so it doesn’t create Google or Microsoft inboxes or warm them up, and replies go to your reply-to address.
Its AI goes by Omnisend Agent: two tools on Standard (Forms and Chat), five on Pro (adding dynamic content, product recommendations and send-time picks). Omnisend has a REST API, and every plan, Free included, lists an MCP server, which lets ChatGPT or Claude query and edit your Omnisend data within the permissions you grant.
Omnisend strengths and drawbacks
Strengths
- Below Klaviyo on list price at the sizes compared. Standard costs $16 against Klaviyo’s $20 at 500 contacts, $132 against $150 at 10,000 and $413 against $720 at 50,000 (October 2026 readings; the two count contacts a little differently).
- People on support for everyone. 24/7 live chat and email come with every plan, and support leads the praise in Trustpilot’s review summary.
- A free plan that isn’t a trial: 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, no card, no time limit.
Drawbacks
- The headline price covers a small list. $16 holds 500 contacts, and Shopify App Store reviewers complain about bills that grew with their lists.
- Texting now means Pro: new accounts pay at least $59 a month plus every message.
- Unpriced extras on Standard. Personalized Content and Personalized Sending Time are included in Pro but paid add-ons on Standard, priced by tier with no public amount.
What Omnisend users say
Omnisend rates well everywhere checked in October 2026: 4.7 out of 5 from 3,197 reviews on the Shopify App Store, 4.4 from 510 on Trustpilot, 4.6 from about 1,270 on G2 and 4.7 from 837 on Capterra. It invites Trustpilot reviews and replies to every negative one.
A Shopify merchant wrote in October 2026: “What really sets Omnisend apart, though, is the customer support.” Ease of use comes next.
Complaints center on price as the list grows. Trustpilot’s review summary also notes some slow replies and onboarding trouble. Two October 2026 reviews raise bot signups: one disputes about $20,000 in SMS charges that Omnisend traced to bots, and one wants list cleaning included.
Who Omnisend is for
Omnisend fits online stores, Shopify ones above all, that email and text customers who signed up and want a person on live chat even on the free plan.
It isn’t for outreach to people who never opted in. Omnisend’s anti-spam policy requires express consent and bans bought, rented and scraped lists.
If I were setting up Omnisend for a store that texts, I’d budget for Pro from day one, because adding SMS to Standard stopped being an option in May 2026.
Alternatives to Omnisend
- Klaviyo: the store platform searchers often weigh against Omnisend, with an Email plan from $20 a month for 500 active profiles.
- Mailchimp: general email marketing rather than store-first, from $13 a month for 500 contacts on Essentials.
- MailerLite: newsletters on a smaller budget, from $12 a month for 500 subscribers on Comfort, free for 250.
- Brevo: priced by emails sent, not contacts, from $9 a month for 5,000 emails, with a free plan of 300 a day.
- Reachkit (our product): for the B2B side of a store that Omnisend’s consent rules exclude, such as cold pitching retailers to stock your products. It finds verified contacts at those shops in a 500M+ profile database, sets up separate lookalike domains ($15 a year) and Google or Microsoft inboxes ($5 a month each) that warm up automatically, and gathers replies in one Unibox, away from your store’s sending domain. From $39 a month; no store email or texts.
Omnisend: common questions
How much is Omnisend per month?
Omnisend's Standard plan starts at $16 a month for up to 500 contacts and Pro at $59 a month for up to 2,500, before VAT. Third-party readings of the pricing calculator in August and October 2026 show about $132 for Standard or $150 for Pro at 10,000 contacts. SMS is a separate per-message add-on on Pro.
Is Omnisend free to use?
Yes, within limits. Omnisend's Free plan covers 250 contacts, 500 emails and 500 web push messages a month, with no credit card and no time limit. Emails carry Omnisend branding, and the plan table limits SMS to Pro. Paid plans have no free trial, as of October 2026.
Is Omnisend legit?
Yes. Omnisend, UAB was founded in Lithuania in 2014 as Soundest and renamed Omnisend in 2017. It says it has 250+ people and reached 150,000 online stores in 2025. In October 2026 it rated 4.7 out of 5 on the Shopify App Store from 3,197 reviews and 4.4 on Trustpilot from 510.
Which is better, Klaviyo or Omnisend?
Omnisend's Standard plan lists below Klaviyo's Email plan at the sizes compared here, such as about $132 against $150 at 10,000 contacts in October 2026 readings, and every Omnisend plan includes 24/7 live chat. Klaviyo, listed on the NYSE, sells extras such as a helpdesk and an AI customer agent. Neither allows cold email.
Can you use Omnisend for cold email?
No. Omnisend's anti-spam policy requires express consent from every recipient and bans purchased, rented and scraped lists. Complaint rates over 0.1% or bounce rates over 4% trigger warnings, and repeated warnings can lock the account. Prospecting needs a cold email tool that sends from its own domains and inboxes, such as Reachkit, which is our product.
