Vidyard pricing and review
Vidyard is a video platform for sales teams: you record or generate personal videos, share them by email or LinkedIn, and see who watched.
Vidyard at a glance
Reachkit makes a cold email platform, not a video tool. Every Vidyard price here was checked in October 2026 against Vidyard’s pricing page, its pricing file and its self-serve terms.

Vidyard pricing
Vidyard pricing starts at $0 on Free, and Starter costs $59 per seat a month billed annually or $89 billed monthly, per Vidyard’s pricing file (updated July 16, 2026). The pricing page adds a “Now 10% off” banner to Starter without saying whether those prices include it.
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Main additions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 5 recordings a month up to 30 minutes, 15 AI videos, 3 custom avatars |
| Starter | $59 per seat | $89 per seat | Unlimited recording, full analytics, branded sharing page |
| Teams | Quote | Quote | 2 CRM or marketing integrations, Video Hubs, custom CTAs |
| Enterprise | Quote | Quote | Unlimited integrations, API-based integrations, SSO |
Video Agent, the AI avatar add-on, costs $24 per seat a month billed annually or $29 monthly on Starter, and is custom-priced on Teams and Enterprise. Free’s 15 AI videos are a lifetime total per the help center, but “per month” in a Vidyard blog post.
Teams used to have a list price. A November 2025 Vidyard blog post put it at $99 per user a month billed annually, and roundups still quote that. By July 2026 Teams was custom pricing. Pro and Plus are legacy plans, replaced by Starter in February 2025.
What a typical setup costs: one rep on Starter pays $708 a year billed annually or $1,068 monthly; with Video Agent, $996 or $1,416. Your Gmail or Outlook mailbox is extra.
Renewal and refunds. Under the self-serve terms, paid plans renew automatically at the then-current list price, and fees are non-refundable. After cancelling, the account drops to Free at the end of the billing cycle; existing videos and shared links keep working.
What Vidyard does
Vidyard puts a recorded or AI-generated video in front of a buyer and reports what they watched. You record screen or webcam in the Chrome or Edge extension or the desktop, web or phone apps, or type a script for an AI avatar of yourself, trained from a 90-second video.
Only some email clients play video inline, so the email carries a thumbnail that opens a branded sharing page with a call-to-action button. You see who watched, for how long, what they rewatched and what they clicked.
Email goes out from your own Gmail or Outlook account, through the extension or from Vidyard, which sends each recipient a separate email. For direct sends, Vidyard’s help center recommends 10 to 30 recipients and points bigger sends to tools like Mailchimp or HubSpot. There are no extra inboxes, domains, warmup or contact data.
Video Agent makes personalized avatar videos on triggers like CRM activity, meeting bookings or form submissions, and runs inside HubSpot workflows, Salesloft Cadences and Gong Flows. Vidyard lists about 50 integrations, and has an official MCP server (a standard way for AI assistants to use other apps), documented for Gong.
Vidyard strengths and drawbacks
Strengths
- A free plan worth using. Five recordings a month up to 30 minutes and three custom AI avatars, with no card.
- Viewer analytics. Watch time, rewatches and CTA clicks per viewer, synced to Salesforce and HubSpot on plans with CRM integrations. G2 reviewers list analytics among its positives.
- Quick to record. One G2 reviewer called it easy “even for a complete beginner.”
- AI video inside existing cadences. Video Agent runs in HubSpot, Salesloft and Gong, with its own API.
- Security. Vidyard says it is SOC 2 Type II certified, and Enterprise adds SSO.
Drawbacks
- CRM data sync is on quote-only plans. The pricing page lists CRM and marketing-automation integrations from Teams up, and API-based integrations on Enterprise.
- Paid plans can feel steep. A Capterra reviewer wrote in 2022 that “the paid plans were a little out of whack with some of their competitors”, and value for money (4.2) ties for Vidyard’s lowest Capterra sub-score.
- Strict billing terms. Auto-renewal and no refunds.
- Free content can train AI. The self-serve terms let Vidyard use Free plan content “to train, test and improve AI models.”
What Vidyard users say
Vidyard rates 4.5 out of 5 on G2 from about 830 reviews and 4.5 on Capterra from 125, as of October 2026. Reviewers praise easy recording and the analytics.
Recurring complaints are the price of paid plans, basic editing, and a phone app with fewer features than the web version; the iOS app holds 3.0 from 52 ratings. Trustpilot shows 2.1 from nine reviews, all one star, mostly about charges, renewals and support. Nine reviews is a small sample next to hundreds on G2.
Who Vidyard is for
Vidyard fits reps who want their face in a follow-up after a demo or a first call, and sales teams on HubSpot, Salesloft or Gong who want avatar videos to go out on triggers without anyone recording.
Look elsewhere if you need CRM sync on a small team without a quote, or if you plan to email hundreds of new people a week from a single mailbox. I’d test on the Free plan first and pay for Starter once you see prospects actually watching.
Alternatives to Vidyard
- BombBomb: video messaging built around real estate, mortgage and sales follow-up, from $36 per user a month billed annually, with no free plan. See the BombBomb profile.
- Mixmax: sequences and tracking inside Gmail, from $29 per user a month billed yearly, with a free plan and a Vidyard integration. See the Mixmax profile.
- Outreach and Salesloft: quote-only sales engagement platforms for email and call sequences, both in Vidyard’s integrations list. See Outreach vs Salesloft.
- Other video tools: Loom, Sendspark, Hippo Video and Wistia come up in the same searches.
- Reachkit (our product): for sending your videos to people who don’t know you yet, past the 10 to 30 recipients Vidyard suggests per send. It registers separate domains ($15 a year), sets up Google or Microsoft inboxes ($5 a month) that warm up on their own, and finds verified leads, from $39 a month per workspace. Import per-prospect video links from a CSV and they become a merge tag.
Vidyard: common questions
How much does Vidyard cost?
Vidyard's Starter plan costs $59 per seat a month billed annually or $89 billed monthly, and the Video Agent add-on adds $24 or $29 per seat. Free costs nothing. Teams and Enterprise are priced by quote. Prices checked October 2026.
Is Vidyard free to use?
Yes, Vidyard has a free plan with no credit card: 5 recorded videos a month up to 30 minutes each, 15 AI videos and 3 custom AI avatars. Deleted videos still count toward the limits. Starter also has a 14-day trial.
Is Vidyard legit?
Yes. Vidyard is run by Buildscale, Inc., a Canadian company that went through Y Combinator in 2011. It rates 4.5 on G2 from about 830 reviews as of October 2026. Its few Trustpilot reviews are negative, mostly about billing, renewals and support.
What is Vidyard used for?
Sales and go-to-market teams use Vidyard to record screen and webcam videos or generate AI avatar videos, share them by email, LinkedIn or a link, and track who watched, for how long and what they clicked.
Vidyard vs BombBomb: which is cheaper?
For one person, Vidyard is cheaper to start, because it has a free plan and BombBomb doesn't. On paid plans BombBomb's Core costs $36 per user a month billed annually against Vidyard Starter's $59, as of October 2026. Both are per seat and both renew under no-refund terms.
Can you use Vidyard for cold email?
Vidyard can put a video in a cold email, but it sends from your own mailbox and recommends 10 to 30 recipients per direct send. It has no extra inboxes, domains, warmup or lead data, so emailing many new people needs a cold email platform alongside it, such as Reachkit, which is our product.
Sending Vidyard videos to cold prospects?
Reachkit registers separate domains, sets up and warms the inboxes, finds verified leads, and can put each prospect's video link from your CSV into the email as a merge tag. Try it free for 30 days, no card needed.
