Salesgenie pricing and review

Salesgenie is Data Axle's lead-list tool for US businesses and consumers: you search for free, then pay, mostly in credits, to export records or use them in email and direct mail campaigns.

Salesgenie at a glance

Reachkit makes a competing cold email tool with built-in B2B lead data. Every price here was checked in October 2026 against Salesgenie’s packages page and help center.

Salesgenie pricing

Salesgenie pricing starts at $99 a month for Basic, and every paid plan runs on a 12-month term. Prices below are from the packages page and the help center, in USD, as of October 15, 2026.

PlanPriceUsersCredits
Free$0n/aNone; records stay partly hidden
BasicFrom $99/mo1Bought as you go
Pro$149/mo1A monthly amount you set at signup
Team$299/mo5 includedAs Pro

Business Buyer Intent adds $50 a month. The packages page calls it a plan add-on; the help center prices it per seat.

The term. Salesgenie’s packages FAQ says a subscription “lasts for 12 months”, charged monthly, then renews month to month at the then-current rate. By my math, that’s at least $1,188 in year one on Basic, $1,788 on Pro and $3,588 on Team, before extra credits.

Credits pay for the data. Exporting or printing a record costs 1 credit, and its email address 1 more. Viewing an email in the app also costs a credit. Salesgenie publishes no credit price: Basic users buy credits in the app, and bulk credits go through a sales rep.

Two other Salesgenie pages show a $149 starting price instead. Before signing, ask for the credit price and how long you may use exported emails, because those set what a year costs.

What Salesgenie does

Salesgenie is a search tool on top of Data Axle’s US business and consumer databases. You filter by industry, location, company size or household traits, or let Smart Audiences pick the filters after a few questions. Then you spend credits to export the list, print it, push it to Salesforce or HubSpot, or use it in a Salesgenie campaign.

The packages page puts the data at over 19.5 million businesses and 255 million consumers, updated weekly; the help center gives other totals (over 15 million businesses, over 315 million consumers). Salesgenie says its business data comes from 6,200+ sources and 20 million verification calls a year.

Around the data sit a lead manager (statuses, tags, notes, tasks), a map search, AI-drafted pitches and email and direct mail campaigns. The help center’s campaign guide covers building an email from a template or HTML and sending it to a saved list, billed on the final send count. It doesn’t document connecting your own inboxes, warmup or follow-up steps.

Salesgenie is owned by Data Axle. Its platform page mentions an API for moving data into a CRM but publishes no API docs, and no MCP server (a standard way for AI assistants like Claude to use other apps) is documented.

Salesgenie strengths and drawbacks

Strengths

  • Published entry prices on the packages page, so you know the starting cost upfront.
  • Consumer and business data together, with map and radius search and sets like new movers and vehicle owners (Basic package).
  • Support people. Trustpilot’s review summary praises the staff, and named account reps come up often.
  • A free account, no card. Search, build lists with hidden details and buy a one-time list without subscribing (help center).
  • A bad-data refund for the part of a list that was undeliverable, out of date or disconnected.

Drawbacks

  • A year-long commitment. The cancellation article asks for a phone call and 30 days’ notice. The website terms say either side can end the account with notice, so ask which your order follows.
  • Unknown credit costs. No credit price is published, and an email costs an extra one.
  • Contact accuracy varies. G2’s review summary says contact details, mobile numbers especially, can be inconsistent; Trustpilot’s mentions outdated data.
  • US first. Most help articles apply to US customers only, and the Canadian data is much smaller.

What Salesgenie users say

Salesgenie holds 4.3 out of 5 on G2 from more than 300 reviews and 4.1 on Trustpilot from 564, as of October 2026. Trustpilot shows 308 of those from the last 12 months, and Salesgenie invites customers to review. Capterra has 3 reviews, averaging 4.0.

Reviewers praise ease of use, the filters and the support staff. Complaints repeat around contract terms buyers didn’t expect, out-of-date contact details, and costs beyond the subscription such as email credits and exports. The BBB rates Data Axle A- with 15 complaints in three years.

Who Salesgenie is for

Salesgenie fits small and local businesses that sell to US companies or households and want direct mail in the same tool. Consumer data is the clearest reason to pick it over B2B-only databases.

Look elsewhere if you can’t commit to a year, sell outside the US, or mainly want multi-step cold email from your own inboxes. If the list is for cold email, verify the export before sending: bounces from stale contacts hurt a sending domain.

Salesgenie: common questions

How much does Salesgenie cost per month?

Salesgenie Basic starts at $99 a month, Pro is $149 and Team is $299 with five users, on a 12-month term billed monthly. Exports and email addresses cost credits on top, and Salesgenie doesn't publish the credit price. A free account with hidden contact details costs nothing. Prices checked October 2026.

Is Salesgenie legit?

Yes. Salesgenie is a Data Axle product that has been sold since at least 2007, and it rates 4.3 on G2 from more than 300 reviews and 4.1 on Trustpilot from 564 as of October 2026. Common complaints are about the 12-month contract, cancelling and outdated contact details.

Does Salesgenie have a free trial?

Salesgenie's pages differ. The packages page advertises a free trial with no credit card, and a test pricing page describes a 3-day trial. The help center describes a permanent free account instead, where you can search and build lists but contact details stay hidden until you buy credits or a one-time list.

How do I cancel my Salesgenie subscription?

Salesgenie's help center says to call an account representative at 877.708.3844 and give at least 30 days' notice. It takes effect at the end of the current term (12 months, per the packages page) or any month after it. The website terms say either side can end the account with notice, so ask which your order follows. No online cancel option is documented.

Is Salesgenie a CRM?

Not a full one. Salesgenie has a lead manager with statuses, tags, notes and tasks, and the Team plan adds lead assignment and team reports. For deals and pipelines, it sends records to Salesforce or HubSpot.

What's a good Salesgenie alternative for cold email?

A tool that combines verified B2B data with sending saves the export step. Apollo pairs a contact database with sequences. Reachkit (our product) includes 1,000 verified-lead credits a month on its $39 Growth plan and can set up and warm inboxes. Reachkit has no consumer data or direct mail.

Buying business lists to cold email?

Reachkit finds verified B2B leads, drafts the campaign and can set up and warm inboxes to send it, with no 12-month term. Try it free for 30 days, no card.
