People Data Labs pricing and review

People Data Labs (PDL) sells person, company and IP data through developer APIs. You pay per matched record, with a free plan and published self-serve prices.

Disclosure: Reachkit sells cold email software with a built-in lead finder, so it competes with PDL for some buyers. Every PDL price below was checked in October 2026 against PDL’s own pricing pages and help center.

People Data Labs pricing

People Data Labs pricing starts at $98 a month for 350 person records on Pro, at $0.28 a record. PDL prints the full self-serve rate card in its help center (Pricing & credits). USD, as of October 2026.

Person Enrichment and SearchBilled monthlyBilled yearly
Tier 1350 to 2,500 credits at $0.284,200 to 30,000 at $0.224
Tier 22,501 to 5,000 at $0.26530,001 to 60,000 at $0.212
Tier 35,001 to 8,333 at $0.2560,001 to 99,999 at $0.20

How credits are spent. An enrichment uses 1 credit when it finds a match, and a search uses 1 credit per profile returned. Requests with no match aren’t billed. Person Identify is the exception: each call uses a credit, however many profiles come back.

Other APIs are separate subscriptions with their own credits, so person plus company data starts at $198 a month.

APISmallest monthly planPer credit, monthlyPer credit, yearly
Person Identify$110 for 200$0.55 to $0.50$0.44 to $0.40
Company Enrichment and Search$100 for 1,000$0.10 to $0.065$0.08 to $0.05
IP Enrichment$95.40 for 1,325$0.072 to $0.048$0.06 to $0.04

Terms. Yearly billing saves 20% and loads the credits upfront. Unused credits roll over, up to 100% of the next period’s allowance. Premium fields cost extra per record, such as $0.03 for premium resume fields, per a help article last updated in July 2024. Above about 100,000 person credits a year, Enterprise is quoted by sales. PDL publishes no overage price; requests fail once credits run out.

What a typical setup costs: enriching 1,500 prospects a month is $420 a month, or $4,032 a year billed yearly (about $336 a month). That buys matched profiles, not checked emails, and a sending tool is extra.

What People Data Labs does

People Data Labs is a data vendor built for developers: you send what you know about a person or company, and its APIs return the matching profile. Person Enrichment takes a name, email, phone, employer or social profile. Person Search queries the dataset with filters or SQL-style queries. Company, IP and Job Posting (beta) APIs work the same way.

PDL’s stats page counts 2.47 billion person records and its September 2026 release notes about 2.42 billion; PDL says they cover about 1.5 billion unique people. In the version 35.2 stats, 26.7% of records carry an email, 3.4% a work email and 20.2% a mobile number. The data comes from suppliers and public records and is typically refreshed monthly.

There’s no list builder or sender. Non-developers get an API Playground and CSV enrichment on Pro. Developers get SDKs in five languages, a sandbox, and Zapier, Make, Salesforce and Clay integrations. Beyond people, PDL holds 76.6 million company records and 46.2 million job postings (September 2026).

People Data Labs strengths and drawbacks

Strengths

  • Prices you can check. Every API, tier and billing cycle is published to the cent, which is rare for a data vendor.
  • You pay for hits only. Misses are free, and required-field filters skip matches missing the field you need.
  • Built for developers. A sandbox that uses no credits and monthly release notes with fill-rate stats. A SourceForge reviewer wrote: “The API is very easy to use and the documentation is incredibly thorough.”
  • Documented sourcing. PDL lists its source types, excludes data such as health and religion, and claims ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2.

Drawbacks

  • Emails need checking before outreach. PDL’s schema docs say the emails field “contains historical email addresses and should not directly be used for email outreach”. On PDL’s roadmap board, a user reported “about a 50% hard bounce rate” in 2022. PDL marked email validation as in progress in October 2025 and added more validated emails to its data in April 2026.
  • Expensive at volume. Reviewers on SourceForge and G2 call it expensive, and self-serve stops near $20,000 a year, after which pricing goes through sales.
  • Needs a developer. There’s no app, CRM or workflow layer, so non-coders rely on CSV uploads, Clay or Zapier.
  • Light self-serve support. PDL’s help center offers Free and Pro email support on weekdays, 8am to 5pm Pacific, for technical issues only. Its pricing page lists email support on Pro, not Free.

What People Data Labs users say

People Data Labs has few public reviews. G2 shows 4.3 out of 5 from 17, as listed in G2’s search results in October 2026. SourceForge shows 4.6 from 47, mostly from 2022 with a cluster in mid-2024. Trustpilot shows a TrustScore of 2.8 from four reviews (three 1-star, one 2-star) on an unclaimed profile, and two of them read like complaints from people in the data rather than customers. There’s no Capterra listing.

Praise centers on data breadth, documentation and support. Complaints repeat on email accuracy and cost at volume.

Who People Data Labs is for

People Data Labs fits developers and data teams who put people or company data inside a product: enrichment in a SaaS app, recruiting software, or AI agents that need records to work from. It suits buyers who write code and want to forecast cost per record.

Look elsewhere if you want to search for prospects in an app, export a list and email it this week. PDL hands you records, not a workflow. If I were feeding PDL data into cold email, I’d make work email a required field and verify every address before it reaches a sending inbox.

Alternatives to People Data Labs

  • ZoomInfo: contact, intent and org chart data, quote-only, though its GTM.AI API lists $0.45 down to $0.25 a record. See the ZoomInfo profile.
  • Clay: runs many data providers in one table, PDL among them, with a free plan and Launch at $185 a month. See Reachkit vs Clay.
  • Hunter: email finding and verification by domain, with an API on every plan and Starter at $49 a month. See the Hunter profile.
  • Lusha: emails and direct dials with an API on every plan, 40 free credits a month and Starter at $49.90. See the Lusha profile.
  • RocketReach: contact lookups with API and MCP access on every plan, from $49 a month for email-only Essentials. See the RocketReach profile.
  • Reachkit (our product): a cold email platform, not a data API you can build into a product. For outreach, its Lead Finder searches 500M+ profiles, verifies emails before leads join a campaign, and charges 1 credit per verified lead; Growth is $39/mo with 1,000 credits.

People Data Labs: common questions

Is People Data Labs legit?

Yes. People Data Labs, Inc. is a real B2B data company, founded in 2015 as TalentIQ according to Crunchbase and led by CEO Ben Eisenberg since August 2025. Its homepage lists customers such as S&P Global and Clay. Public reviews are few: 4.3 on G2 from 17 reviews as of October 2026.

How much does People Data Labs cost?

Pro person plans start at $98 a month for 350 records, at $0.28 each, falling to $0.25 at higher monthly volume and $0.20 on large yearly plans. Company data starts at $100 a month for 1,000 records. Above roughly 100,000 person credits a year, Enterprise is quoted by sales. Checked October 2026.

Does People Data Labs have a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan gives up to 100 credits a month, but since January 2025 it hides emails, phone numbers and addresses, showing only whether they exist. PDL's help center says a free trial isn't something it supports yet. Cancelling a paid plan moves you back to Free at your next renewal.

Was People Data Labs involved in a data breach?

In October 2019, researchers found an unsecured server holding 1.2 billion records, much of it matching PDL data. Have I Been Pwned lists it under PDL with 622 million unique emails, and says the server wasn't owned by PDL and that a customer is believed to have left it unprotected.

People Data Labs vs ZoomInfo: which is cheaper?

Per record, usually PDL. Its self-serve person records cost $0.28 down to $0.20, while ZoomInfo's GTM.AI API credits are published at $0.45 down to $0.25. ZoomInfo's main platform is sold by quote, with Vendr putting the median buyer at $33,500 a year. ZoomInfo adds direct dials, org charts and intent data.
