Handwrytten pricing and review

Handwrytten is a handwritten mail service: you type a message, robots holding real pens write the card and the envelope, and it goes out by USPS First-Class mail.

Handwrytten at a glance

Reachkit sells cold email software and sends no physical mail, so it meets Handwrytten only where a card is one step in prospecting. I checked every Handwrytten price on this page in October 2026 against Handwrytten’s pricing page, FAQ and help articles.

Handwrytten pricing

Handwrytten pricing is per card plus postage, and plans lower the card price. Value cards with its logo on the back cost $3.25 and most designs $3.75, per its pricing page and FAQ, as of October 2026. Domestic postage is billed at the USPS rate. Bulk discounts without a plan only show after you sign up.

Subscriptions renew every 30 days, unused credits roll over while you stay subscribed, and you can cancel any time:

PlanCards per 30 daysDiscountPrice
Silver2410%$100
Gold5015%$200
Platinum10020%$382

A 2020 help article says these include postage and tax; the current pricing page doesn’t say.

Business plans pair a monthly fee with a lower card price: Pro $449 ($1.99 a card), Enterprise $649 ($1.49), Elite $849 ($1.29) and Agency $2,499 ($1.19). Each also shows a lower price ($374, $540, $707, $2,082) beside a Pay Monthly / Pay Annually toggle, without saying which is which. A footnote says “Monthly plans billed every 4 weeks”, which means 13 bills a year. All include API access and multistep campaigns, and every button leads to a demo booking.

What it really costs, assuming the 82-cent First-Class stamp and business cards charged on top of the fee (Handwrytten doesn’t say whether the fee includes any):

SetupMathTotal
1 card, no plan$3.75 + $0.82$4.57
Pro, 300 cards per 4 weeks$449 + 300 × ($1.99 + $0.82)$1,292 (about $4.31 a card)
Pro, 1,000 cards per 4 weeks$449 + 1,000 × ($1.99 + $0.82)$3,259 (about $3.26 a card)

On that reading, Pro beats retail only above roughly 255 cards per cycle. A custom handwriting font costs $1,500 once ($2,000 for cursive), and inserts $0.50 each after a $50 setup and $20 a month storage.

What Handwrytten does

Handwrytten turns a typed note into a pen-written card. You write the message or let its AI polish it, pick one of 100+ designs or design your own, and choose from 38 handwriting styles. Robots write card and envelope with real pens. Handwrytten aims to complete orders within 1 to 2 business days, and domestic delivery typically takes 2 to 7 business days.

You can order one card in the web or phone apps, or many from an Excel upload. Business plans add multistep campaigns and QR codes, and gift cards or inserts can ride along. A residential prospecting tool targets households by area, home ownership, income and age at the normal card price.

A HubSpot app (July 2026) sends cards from records or workflows, and Salesforce, Shopify, Zapier and Clay functions do the same. The API has a test mode, and an MCP server, a standard way for AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT to use other apps, can place orders. Replies don’t come back through Handwrytten.

Handwrytten strengths and drawbacks

Strengths

  • Real ink. A Trustpilot reviewer wrote that “the handwriting is believable, the card stock feels substantial.”
  • Public prices, no commitment. You can buy a single card, and every consumer and business plan has a listed price.
  • Fits existing workflows. HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify, the API and its MCP server put cards inside processes teams already run.
  • A 90-day money-back guarantee, excluding your own typos, bad addresses and mail already with USPS.

Drawbacks

  • Cost climbs with volume. High prices tie for the most-mentioned con on G2, and G2’s summary says pricing “can feel steep for large volumes.”
  • Mail timing. G2 reviewers mention transit delays, though one added that this “isn’t something Handwrytten can control.”
  • Design choice. G2’s summary says some users want a wider selection of card designs.
  • Business terms to check. The Terms of Use ask for 60 days’ written notice to close an account, while subscriptions say cancel any time, so ask which applies to your quote.

What Handwrytten users say

Handwrytten rates 4.7 out of 5 on G2 from about 886 reviews as of October 2026, with 86% at five stars, and reviewers there score its support 9.5 out of 10. Trustpilot shows 4.4 from only 12 reviews, and the iOS app 4.0 from 53 ratings. I found no Capterra listing.

Reviewers praise how real the cards look and how little effort an order takes. The repeat complaints are price at volume, slow delivery and limited designs.

Who Handwrytten is for

Handwrytten fits businesses where one customer is worth a few dollars of card and stamp: a thank-you after a Shopify order, a note when a HubSpot or Salesforce deal moves, or donor thanks on Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.

Look elsewhere to reach thousands of new people a month on a small budget. At about $4.57 for a retail card mailed, I’d save cards for people who already replied or booked a call and let email carry the first touch.

Alternatives to Handwrytten

  • Other robot-written card services: Simply Noted, Thankster, Scribeless and LettrLabs show up in the same searches.
  • BombBomb: a personal touch by video instead of paper, from $36 per user a month billed annually. See the BombBomb profile.
  • lemlist: email, LinkedIn steps, calls and SMS in one sequence, from $109 per user a month for Multichannel. See the lemlist profile.
  • Reachkit (our product): the email side of the same outreach. It registers separate domains ($15 a year), sets up Google or Microsoft inboxes ($5 a month) that warm automatically and finds verified leads, from $39 a month per workspace. Handwrytten: common questions

How much does Handwrytten cost?

As of October 2026, single Handwrytten cards cost $3.25 for value cards with its logo on the back or $3.75 for most designs, plus postage. Subscriptions cost $100, $200 or $382 per 30 days for 24, 50 or 100 cards. Business plans list $449 to $2,499 a month, or $374 to $2,082 at the lower price shown, with cards from $1.99 down to $1.19.

Is Handwrytten legit?

Yes. Handwrytten Inc. is based in Tempe, Arizona, was founded in 2014 and says it has sent more than 16 million notes. It rates 4.7 on G2 from about 886 reviews as of October 2026, and it offers a 90-day money-back guarantee that excludes typos, wrong addresses and mail already with USPS.

Does Handwrytten have a free plan?

No. Handwrytten has no free plan and no software trial. It mails free writing samples on request, and you can buy one card at a time without a subscription, so one domestic test card costs under $5 with postage.

Is postage included in Handwrytten's price?

Not for single cards or business plans: Handwrytten bills domestic postage at the current USPS rate and adds a 10-cent surcharge to each international card. For Silver, Gold and Platinum, a 2020 Handwrytten help article says postage and tax are included, but the current pricing page doesn't state it.

How does Handwrytten make notes look handwritten?

Robots hold real pens and write the note and the envelope, so the ink is real rather than a printed script font. You choose from 38 handwriting styles or pay $1,500 once for a font made from your own handwriting.

Can you use Handwrytten for cold outreach?

Yes, as a mail step. Its prospecting tool targets households by area, and its Clay functions send a card for each row with an address. At several dollars a card, it works best next to email: a cold email platform such as Reachkit, which is our product, handles first touches, and cards go to the people who reply.

Sending cards as part of outbound?

Reachkit runs the email half: it registers separate domains, sets up and warms Google or Microsoft inboxes, and finds verified leads to write to. Start a 30-day free trial, no credit card needed.
