GoDaddy pricing and review

GoDaddy is a domain registrar that also sells Microsoft 365 email, web hosting and an AI website builder, with low first-term prices that renew higher.

GoDaddy pricing

GoDaddy pricing is built on first-term promos: almost every headline price covers the first term only, and the struck-through price next to it is what GoDaddy shows as the regular rate. Figures below are from GoDaddy’s email, Microsoft 365 and pricing pages, as of October 2026.

Microsoft 365 from GoDaddyFirst year, per mailbox/moStruck-through priceAdds
Email Essentials$1.99$8.9910 GB mailbox
Email Plus with Security$5.99$9.9950 GB, Advanced Email Security
Secure Online Essentials$10.99$14.99Web Office apps, Teams
Secure Business Professional$11.99$19.99Desktop Office on 5 devices

For the two Secure plans GoDaddy states the renewal outright (“Auto-renews annually at $179.88” and “$239.88”). For Essentials and Plus it only shows the struck-through price, so treat $8.99 and $9.99 as the likely renewal, not a quote. The email prices assume an annual term.

Domains: a .com is “$0.01 /1st year” with a 3-year purchase. GoDaddy’s own May 2026 price article lists .com renewal at $22.99 plus a $0.20 ICANN fee. Privacy is free. A banner on the domains page offers new customers a one-year .com for $2.99. A separate banner offers new customers a one-year .com for $2.99.

Hosting and builder: cPanel hosting starts at $5.99 a month (Economy, struck through at $11.99) on a 3-year prepay. The Airo website builder has a Free plan, then Starter $9.99, Professional $24.99 and Ultimate $99.99 a month, billed yearly.

What a small setup costs: one .com and one Email Essentials mailbox come to about $70 upfront ($45.99 for the 3-year domain, assuming $22.99 for years two and three, plus $23.88 for a year of email). In year two the mailbox runs about $108 if it renews at the struck-through $8.99.

What GoDaddy does

GoDaddy is a domain registrar and small business web host based in Tempe, Arizona. It calls itself “the world’s largest domain name registrar” and reported 20.5 million customers in Q2 2026.

You buy a domain, then add products around it: Microsoft 365 mailboxes, cPanel or WordPress hosting, an SSL certificate, or a site made with Airo, its AI builder. Airo builds pages and apps from a prompt, using monthly AI credits that don’t roll over. Everything is self-serve with public prices.

The email is Microsoft 365, resold and managed by GoDaddy. GoDaddy’s help center lists its limits as 30 messages a minute and 10,000 a day, with up to 500 recipients per message. The Microsoft account behind your mailboxes is linked to GoDaddy, and Microsoft and GoDaddy document a “defederation” process for admins who want to manage it directly. It has no warmup, sequences or other cold email tools.

GoDaddy strengths and drawbacks

Strengths

  • One account for the basics. Domain, website, hosting and Microsoft 365 email sit under one login and one bill.
  • Human support around the clock. Patient phone staff are the most praised point in Trustpilot‘s review summary. GoDaddy offers support 24/7 and says it has over 3,500 support experts in more than 20 countries.
  • Cheap to start. A $0.01 first year on a .com (with a 3-year buy), $1.99 email and $5.99 hosting keep the first bill low.
  • Free extras. Domain privacy “forever”, DMARC impersonation protection on domains, and free first-year email on select hosting plans.

Drawbacks

  • Renewals jump. Email Essentials goes from $1.99 to a struck-through $8.99, and a .com from $0.01 to $22.99 a year, per GoDaddy’s May 2026 price list.
  • Short refund windows on email. Microsoft 365 annual plans are refundable for 7 days, against 30 days for most other annual plans (refund policy).
  • Admin control. The Microsoft account is tied to GoDaddy, and taking full control means Microsoft’s defederation process.
  • Upsells. Trustpilot’s summary says some reviewers point to “unexpected cart additions”.

What GoDaddy users say

GoDaddy holds 4.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot from more than 144,000 reviews as of October 2026 (the TrustScore badge on the same page shows 4.5). Recent ones are mostly short notes after a support call, and Trustpilot’s summary says reviewers describe staff as “exceptionally patient, highly knowledgeable”.

G2 lists GoDaddy Domains at 3.9 from 963 reviews, per search results in October 2026. Complaint sites score it far lower: Sitejabber shows 1.9 from 518 reviews, and ConsumerAffairs shows close to 1 out of 5 in search results.

The recurring complaints are renewal prices (one G2 reviewer cites “the high renewal pricing compared to the first-year cost”), add-ons in the cart, and friction when moving domains away.

Who GoDaddy is for

GoDaddy fits a small business that wants its domain, website and email from one company, with a phone number to call when something breaks. If you plan for renewals at the regular price, it does that job.

Look elsewhere if the first-year price is the reason you’re buying, or if you need email for cold outreach. My practitioner note: keep your main domain and website wherever you like them, GoDaddy included, and send cold email from separate domains on mailboxes you can manage in bulk. GoDaddy’s email is built for everyday business mail.

Alternatives to GoDaddy

These cover the email side, for readers setting up mailboxes for outreach, not hosting or website builders.

  • Google Workspace: business Gmail straight from Google, from $7 per user a month on an annual plan or $8.40 with no commitment, before any introductory discount.
  • Zapmail: sets up Google or Microsoft mailboxes for cold email in bulk, from $39 a month for 10 mailboxes, with prices rising in year two per its help center. See Reachkit vs Zapmail.
  • Instantly: a cold email sender that also sells done-for-you Google inboxes at $5 each a month plus $15 a year per domain. See the Instantly profile.
  • Reachkit (our product): a cold email platform from $39 a month. It doesn’t host your site or main domain; it registers separate sending domains ($15 a year), sets up Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 inboxes ($5 a month) and starts warmup automatically. See Reachkit pricing.

For how the sending side fits together, see the guide to cold email infrastructure.

GoDaddy: common questions

Is GoDaddy legit?

Yes. GoDaddy is a publicly traded company based in Tempe, Arizona, which reported 20.5 million customers in mid-2026. It holds 4.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot from more than 144,000 reviews as of October 2026. Common complaints are renewal prices, cart add-ons and moving domains away.

How much does GoDaddy cost?

As of October 2026, a .com costs $0.01 for the first year with a 3-year purchase, then $22.99 a year plus a $0.20 ICANN fee, per GoDaddy's May 2026 price list. Microsoft 365 email starts at $1.99 per mailbox a month for the first year, with $8.99 shown as the struck-through price. Hosting starts at $5.99 a month on a 3-year term.

Does GoDaddy have a free plan?

Only for the website builder. Airo's Free plan costs nothing, needs no credit card and includes 50 AI credits a month. Domains, hosting and email are paid, though select hosting plans include professional email free for the first year. Microsoft 365 annual plans are refundable within 7 days.

Why is GoDaddy so expensive at renewal?

Most GoDaddy prices are first-term promotions. Email Essentials is $1.99 a month in year one against a struck-through $8.99, and Secure Business Professional auto-renews at $239.88 a year after $143.88 for the first.

Can I use GoDaddy email for cold email?

You can send from it, but it isn't built for outreach. GoDaddy's Microsoft 365 has no warmup or sequences, the account is linked to GoDaddy rather than managed directly in Microsoft, and its help center lists limits of 30 messages a minute and 10,000 a day. A few users on Microsoft's Q&A forum have reported far lower caps on GoDaddy accounts.

Keeping your domain at GoDaddy but sending cold email?

Keep your site and main domain where they are, and let Reachkit set up separate sending domains and inboxes that warm up for at least 3 weeks. Try the 30-day free trial, no card needed.
