Cognism pricing and review

Cognism is a B2B contact and company data platform built around European data and phone-verified mobile numbers, sold in two quote-only packages with five seats included.

Cognism at a glance

Reachkit makes a competing cold email tool with a built-in lead database. Every plan detail on this page was checked in October 2026 against Cognism’s own pages. Cognism publishes no prices, so every dollar figure below comes from a third party and says so.

Cognism pricing

Cognism pricing is not public: both packages on the pricing page send you to sales (“Talk to sales” or “Talk to an expert”), and the FAQ says the price is “tailored based on the product you need, your team setup and how you plan to use the platform.” As of October 2026 the packages are:

PackageSeatsWhat Cognism lists
Standard5 includedContact data, firmographic and technographic filters, AI account research, CSV export, MCP and API access
Pro5 includedStandard plus higher-quality mobile data, on-demand phone verification and Bombora intent
CRM Enrichmentn/aAdd-on, or sold on its own

How credits work. Each seat comes with a credit allowance, and you can buy more, but neither the allowance nor the top-up price is published. One credit reveals one contact. Viewing a contact you already revealed is free, and the same contact only costs a credit again after a job change. One pool covers the web app, CRM Enrichment, the API and the MCP server. API and MCP searches also use a separate allowance of search tokens (docs).

What buyers report paying. A Supered guide (October 2026) quotes Vendr’s purchase data: a $32,750 median across 94 purchases, ranging from $16,585 to $88,449. ZoomInfo, a direct competitor, estimates about $22,500 a year for five users on Standard and $37,500 on Pro, and labels those figures unconfirmed and based on older packaging. Cognism lists no platform fee.

Contracts. Cognism publishes no term length or renewal rules. Third-party reviews describe 12-month contracts that renew on their own unless you give 60 to 90 days’ notice. Older plan names, per ZoomInfo’s guide: Platinum and Diamond, later Grow and Elevate.

What Cognism does

Cognism is a prospecting database: you filter companies and people in the web app or Chrome extension, reveal a contact for one credit, then export it to Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive or a CSV. CRM Enrichment updates records already in Salesforce or HubSpot.

Cognism’s compliance page says the data mixes first-party and third-party sources, from a member community and public company pages to Bombora intent. Its signature is Diamond Data: mobile numbers that a research team calls to confirm the right person picks up. Cognism counts over 10 million of them and says they are 3x more likely to connect, based on a study it says an independent firm ran by calling 1,000 mobiles (Diamond Data).

For compliance, Cognism relies on GDPR’s legitimate interest, tells people they are in the database, and screens against Do Not Call lists in 16 countries, per its October 2026 update (its compliance page still says 15). Both packages include AI account research and a REST API and an MCP server (a standard way for AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT to use other apps). The MCP tools search and count records; none of them write data.

Cognism strengths and drawbacks

Strengths

  • Verified European mobiles. The most cited reason to buy; G2’s comparison page notes reviewers switching from ZoomInfo “for better EMEA data quality.”
  • Compliance for Europe. Legitimate-interest notices, DNC screening, an in-app opt-out list and Salesforce or HubSpot opt-outs synced into Cognism (Q3 2026 update).
  • Credits that don’t charge twice. Re-opening a revealed contact is free, and one pool covers the app, enrichment, API and MCP (pricing FAQ).
  • Open to AI tools. An OAuth MCP server with setup guides for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others (MCP docs).

Drawbacks

  • No price until a sales call. Seat credits and top-up prices aren’t published either.
  • A team-sized entry point. Both packages include five seats, which is more than a solo founder needs.
  • Thinner outside Europe. Reddit users and comparison guides say coverage is strongest in EMEA; Cognism frames itself around “revenue teams selling into and across EMEA” (About).
  • API and MCP only on new packages. Customers on older contracts have to ask their account team to upgrade.

What Cognism users say

Paying users rate Cognism well. As of October 2026 it holds 4.5 out of 5 on G2 from about 1,370 reviews (Cognism’s About page shows 4.6) and 4.7 on Capterra from 264 reviews. G2’s summary says users “consistently praise the product for its data accuracy and ease of use.”

Trustpilot is split at 2.9 from 395 reviews, with 53% five-star and 35% one-star ratings. Its AI summary of recent reviews tags customer communications as negative, and some of the low scores come from people unhappy that their details were in the database.

Price is the steady complaint, as in this Reddit post: “Our Cognism renewal is coming up and the price is making me look around.”

Who Cognism is for

Cognism fits sales teams of five or more who call and email decision makers in the UK and Europe, care about GDPR and Do Not Call screening, and are fine buying through a sales quote.

Look elsewhere if you sell mainly in the US, work alone, or want to see a price before talking to anyone. If your outbound is mostly email, I’d judge any data vendor by how many verified emails you get per dollar and how recent they are, not by mobile coverage.

Alternatives to Cognism

  • ZoomInfo: contact data with intent signals and org charts, also quote-only; Vendr reports a $33,500 yearly median. Read the ZoomInfo profile.
  • Apollo: contacts plus built-in sequences, a free plan, and paid seats from $49 a month on yearly billing. Read the Apollo profile or Reachkit vs Apollo.
  • Lusha: self-serve contact data you can buy without a call, with 40 free credits a month and Starter at $49.90. Read the Lusha profile.
  • RocketReach: published plans from $49 a month for email lookups. Read the RocketReach profile.
  • Reachkit (our product): if your outbound is mostly email, Lead Finder searches 500M+ profiles and adds verified emails straight to a Reachkit campaign at 1 credit each. Growth is $39 a month per workspace with 1,000 credits. It won’t replace Cognism for calling.

Cognism: common questions

How much does Cognism cost per year?

Cognism doesn't publish prices; Standard and Pro are quoted by sales, each with five seats included. Vendr purchase data, as cited by Supered in October 2026, puts the median at $32,750 a year. ZoomInfo, a competitor, estimates about $22,500 a year for five users on Standard. Checked October 2026.

Is Cognism legit?

Yes. Cognism is a London-based data company founded in 2015 that says it serves more than 4,000 revenue teams. As of October 2026 it rates 4.5 on G2 and 4.7 on Capterra. Its 2.9 on Trustpilot mixes customer complaints about communication with reviews from people listed in its database.

Does Cognism have a free trial or free plan?

There's no free plan and no self-serve trial. Cognism offers a free data sample, and its sales team can set up a trial under separate proof-of-concept terms. When that trial ends, access stops and the trial data has to be deleted.

Who owns Cognism?

Cognism is privately held and venture-backed. PitchBook lists about $163 million raised, from investors including Balderton Capital and Viking Global Investors. Cognism bought the prospecting tool Kaspr in 2022, and Dominic Allon, formerly CEO of Pipedrive, has led it since September 2025.

How do I opt out of Cognism?

Cognism's compliance page links an opt-out form at cognism.privacy.saymine.io. Cognism says it notifies people of their inclusion in its database within GDPR timeframes, and customers' admins can see who has opted out in the app.

Is Cognism good for the US?

It works in the US, but users and comparison guides say its data is strongest in Europe, and Cognism describes itself as built for teams selling into EMEA.
