This guide explains how delays between sequence steps work in Reachkit.

Setting Delays

When you add steps to your sequence, each step has a delay field. This sets the minimum number of days to wait before sending the next step.

For example, if Step 1 has a delay of 3 days, Reachkit will wait at least 3 days after sending Step 1 before sending Step 2.

The minimum delay is 1 day.

How Delays Interact with Your Schedule

Delays are in calendar days, but emails only send during your scheduled sending windows.

If a delay ends on a day outside your schedule, the email waits until the next scheduled day. For example:

  • Your schedule is set to weekdays only (Monday-Friday)
  • You set a 2-day delay
  • Step 1 sends on Thursday
  • 2 calendar days later is Saturday
  • Since Saturday isn’t in your schedule, Step 2 sends on Monday instead

This means your leads won’t receive emails outside your configured sending times, even if the delay technically ends on those days.
